Welcome to all our tree friends - human and other! 🌲🍄🌳🐝🌸🦋

As we mentioned in the last newsletter, the beginning of August marked Lammas. Have you noticed any Lammas growth on trees recently? We’ve spotted some new leaves appearing on trees locally - for example, we’ve seen some small and slightly red oak leaves recently. Look out for such growth where you are.

We hope you’ll find this platform easy to use, and would welcome comments of your experience, so any tweaks can be made. Forest Bathing Finder was created by the daughter of a fellow ANFT Guide in the US and enables you to see who is guiding and where in the world - perhaps you might be curious to join another Guide when you travel to a new place or try an online walk with another Guide.

If you would like to arrange a specially tailored experience with a group such as friends or colleagues - in-person or online, please get in contact to make arrangements.

WHY FOREST BATHING?

If you have yet to experience forest bathing, perhaps you are wondering what to expect and what are some of the benefits for forest bathing or wellBEing in the woods?

There is research evidence to show that spending time in the woods, taking in the atmosphere through your senses can help to reduce those feelings of ‘flight or fight’ and rather encourage some ‘rest and digest’. By joining a Forest Therapy Guide, certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy, you are being invited to awaken your senses as you slow down and spend time in relation and connection with nature (including yourself). You become part of a global community with Guides in over 65 countries. Depending on the event and the group, we may play with some different ‘invitations’ on different occasions. You may even remember your ‘inner child’ while you are encouraged to try life at ‘tree speed’ for a while. We complete the experience with forest tea - if you are joining an online remotely guided event, you are invited to bring your own cuppa - the internet is yet to develop the skill of serving tea! 😂

If you follow our social media and these newsletters, you will see a few tree friends who have been acknowledged on our wanders - feel free to share your tree beings in response (and if they have given their agreement).

Looking for Gift Inspirations?

Are you the giver of a gift with curiosity? If you would like to offer someone special a ‘wellBEing’ or ‘green spa’ experience, why not consider a Woodlands Breathing gift voucher? We can arrange a voucher for either an in-person or online experience, for one person or a group. We can also include a ‘wellness pack’ - for example, as a way for online participants to share tea together (UK only). Why not enable the recipient to learn a new practice to support their mental, physical and emotional wellness? You never know, it might become a present that offers more than you expect! If you’d like more details, please email us to discuss options.
